I received this as a gift from my boyfriend's parents and ohhh, I love it! The wrist clasp mechanism is easily adjustable, setting time and date is fairly intuitive (for those who are familliar with digital watches, anyhow), and I think it's just a very good looking watch to begin with (the main draw, after all). Sure, it's a men's watch but who doesn't like leather? ;)
I will agree that the backlighting tends to be a little on the weak side so if you expect to spend a fair amount of time in poorly lit conditions, you might not find that to be helpful. Aside from that, I have no real complaints about this watch.
It's nothing fancy, it tells the time and day, and it looks fantastic. Great gift for those who don't care if this watch may not be one James Bond's first choice. |

| This watch is a super stylish and comfortable! The only downside is that the buttons on the side are really close together so when you want to push "light" for the background light, you can accidentally push "time" and change the time. It would be better if there was a time lock but other than that it is one of the coolest watches I have ever seen! |
Cool watch but could be designed better

I bought this watch from the picture alone because I thought it looked pretty cool. However, I am disappointed with its design.
My first complaint is that the backlight is not very strong. In fact, when I had just received it, I tried out the light on a cloudy day and my first thought was that the backlight was not working (hence minus one star).
My next complaint is that the clock/calendar set button is right next to the the backlight and mode buttons. All 3 buttons have the same feel and and a very low profile. The problem here is that if I want to check the time in the middle of the night, I can't distinguish between the buttons and hence if the light doesn't come on initially it may be because I've pushed the clock setup button or did not push hard enough. Consequently, on a second attempt to find the backlight button, I may end up changing the time. Now what good is it to stress myself in the middle of the night like that when I am trying to sleep. I think a watch like this or any other watch should have a lock switch on the back so that you cannot accidently alter the time. Alternatively, place the setup button away from the others. (minus another star)
Another complaint is that to setup the year, it only advances forward but fortunately it only goes to 2099 and then returns to 2000 again. My son accidently pushed the setup button and the year advanced to 2013. I was afraid that I would not be able to return back to 2008 and that the calendar feature would be useless.
It's a pity, with all the technological advances out there and the fact that Diesel has been selling watches for some time now, you would think you could get a well designed feature rich watch. Afterall, it's digital - why not add a stop watch or countdown timer etc.
My recommendation is buy this watch only if you are looking for a fashion accessory. |
