I've been wearing this Citizen for over 4 months now which has given me time to better review this product. I love this watch! It's my first eco-drive and I get lots of comments on it. I have the cafe colour watch which makes a nice distintion to your normal black bands. The face is big and easy to read, and at nights the glowing hands are super bright! The chronometer is simple and easy to use. This is my first chronometer watch, so I don't know what is considered a "good one", but from what I see, mine works very well. I did have a problem w/the chronometer after the first month when the second hand got stuck on second 14 instead of 0, but after recalibrating, I haven't had problems since.
I have worn this watch in the ocean and in pools and no problems w/water leaks, and the canvas band left no mildew smell or anything, a very pleasant surprise!!
Overall, a great watch. And, I bought it here on Amazon for only $139 w/free shipping, so I definitaly feel I got a super bargain. |
A Good alternative to Black

I've had this watch for around 2 weeks now and really like it. At first I was planning on getting the black one that disappeared from the internet back in December. The other canvas model's did not suit me. Too bold, or too casual (military model). Not to mention I really liked the layout of the dial with the date at the 4 position. Thus freeing up a nice looking 12, 3, 6, and 9 numbers on the dial face. This arrangement makes for a very pleasing appearance to the eye and allows you to quickly tell the time with just a glance. In order to fit the chronograph also, they made the watch big. It is a full 46mm across. I have a small wrist and so the watch fits in the third hole from the end. Everyone seems to be wearing big watches now though. I have gotten used to it and like the size more now.
I gave it 5 stars because I WILL NEVER HAVE TO BUY A BATTERY AGAIN! Well besides that, the mechanical functions feel solid and keeps very accurate time. As soon as I got it and pushed in the crown it started working (even though it had been in the box not exposed to the light). Since I mainly wear the watch after work and on the weekend, it's doesn't get much sun except for what comes through the window on the dresser, that's enough for it to keep working. I also have a self-winding watch, and I would have to set the time every time I wanted to pick it up. Not with this Citizen though! You pick it up and it works! I do like the color also. The sturdy canvas band looks almost like a leather band from a distance. This color goes good with just about anything. The high contrast of the white and brown of the face make for a very easy to read appearance in direct light, and even in the dark because these markings you can actually see glow.
I would recommend this watch because of it's stunning looks, exceptional build and because it's solar. |
